Function:
- Chromium is involved in carbohydrate metabolism and helps to utilise sugar. As a component of the glucose tolerance factor (GTF), chromium positively influences insulin action and promotes the reduction of blood sugar levels.
- In fat metabolism, it converts cholesterol.
- Chromium is a component of the spleen, liver, fat, bones, and muscles (the concentration decreases with age).
