Ruby Red – The tribute to the Queen
The ruby, a symbol of unquenchable love, is considered a lucky charm and is a testament to the love story between Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
The "scarab" made of rubies, gold and diamonds, which the Duke of Edinburgh gave her in 1966, was one of her favourites. The brooch is characterised by its irregular and cheerful shape. Prince Philip commissioned the piece from Andrew Grima, London's most famous designer, and entrusted him with rubies which, according to legend, came from an ancient Indian headdress.
Ruby Red is oriental and floral. The royal duo of ginger and floral notes creates a mesmerising and passionate sillage. The petals of ylang ylang envelop tuberose and ginger blossom. Vanilla harmonises with the warmth of woody notes and luminous musk.
