The Double Effect Caffeine Shampoo loosens the hardened horn cells in the first step and thoroughly frees the scalp from dandruff. The combination of the two effective anti-dandruff agents salicylic acid and piroctone olamine is a dermatologically recommended complex, as it takes into account all dermatologically relevant aspects of cosmetic dandruff formation: gentle dandruff removal, anti-inflammatory effect, antioxidant effect, i.e. improvement of resistance, and antimicrobial properties.
This combination has predominantly been used in pharmacy products as a dermatologically based anti-dandruff solution. It enables precise and gentle micro-exfoliation and reduces scalp itching. By freeing the scalp from dandruff, the way is clear for the caffeine complex. Alpecin Double Effect Caffeine Shampoo contains highly dosed caffeine, which penetrates to the hair roots during washing. It is detectable after just 120 seconds of exposure. At the hair root, the active ingredient forms a 24-hour depot, thereby protecting the hair root from premature dormancy – hereditary hair loss is thus prevented.
