Details

tetesept Anti-Wart Pen is a medical device for self-medication, for the effective and fast-acting treatment of common warts and plantar warts. The pen contains a gel based on the medical active ingredient TCA-ActiveTM, which causes the peeling of the infected skin. The thickened skin of the wart as well as the causative virus are removed, allowing new healthy skin to grow back. With the help of the precision tip, the gel can be easily applied to the wart. A blue dye is added to the gel to facilitate precise application and to prevent accidental application on healthy skin.

What is a wart?

Common warts and plantar warts appear on the skin as small, rough, "cauliflower-like" growths caused by an infection with a human papillomavirus (HPV). Common warts mostly occur on the hands, fingers, or toes. Plantar warts primarily grow on the soles of the feet or heels and are usually flatter, harder, and often sensitive or painful when walking or standing.

How to use

  • To remove the cap from the pen, turn the cap to align it with the arrows, then pull the cap off the pen.
  • Initially apply the gel to only one wart before treating multiple warts, and wait to see how your skin reacts. Only treat additional warts if no side effects are observed (usually within 5 days). If multiple warts are located close together (within a 1 cm radius), wait to treat another wart until the skin has normalised (this may take up to 6 weeks).
  • For the first application: It may take about 50 clicks before the first drop of gel is dispensed. For each subsequent use, press the pen button several times at 5-second intervals until the gel is visible in the transparent part of the tip. One click (one drop of gel) is sufficient for each treatment. If one drop does not cover the entire wart, apply an additional drop of gel.
  • Hold the pen with the tip facing downwards and let the gel flow into the tip.
  • Carefully apply one drop of the treatment gel directly onto the wart. Due to the blue colour of the gel, it is easy to see where the gel has been applied.
  • If the gel accidentally comes into contact with healthy skin, wash the entire area with soap and water to prevent irritation or burning of the healthy skin. You can use an ointment such as petroleum jelly to protect the surrounding area before applying the gel. If you have difficulty applying the gel precisely, for example on the sole of the foot, ask someone to assist you.
  • Allow the gel to dry for 10–15 minutes before putting on socks, shoes, or gloves.
  • Carefully wipe the tip with a tissue to remove excess gel. Screw the pen cap on tightly and twist the arrows to lock it.
  • Repeat the treatment twice daily for 4 days. For children with small warts, apply the gel once daily.
  • During treatment, the skin will darken and begin to peel by forming a scab. Peeling is a natural process that continues for 1–2 weeks after the treatment period. The renewed skin appears smoother, slightly pink, and regains its natural colour over the following weeks.
  • Only expose the treated area to sunlight once the skin has returned to its normal condition.
  • If the wart does not completely disappear, repeat the treatment after a 4-day break. You can repeat this treatment up to 4 times if necessary to completely remove the wart.

Notes:

  • Do not use the gel after the expiry date printed on the pen and outer carton.
  • For use only on warts on the hands and feet.
  • Apply only on intact skin and only if you are certain it is a wart.
  • If the gel accidentally contacts healthy skin, wash the entire area with soap and water to prevent irritation or burning of the healthy skin.
  • During pregnancy and breastfeeding, or if you suffer from diabetes, circulatory disorders, or skin diseases, it is recommended to consult a doctor before use.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
