Senior perfumer Mathieu Nardin describes this moment of the Japanese tea ceremony: “There is a part that is not visible, it is connected to something else.”. It is this “chadō” – “the way of tea” – that shapes this woody-green fragrance.
The signature green tea opens with a gentle sweetness of nashi pear and brims with herbal freshness, while the matcha accord lends a subtle green hue. And at the base, Hinoki wood – the material of Japanese onsen bathhouses – forms an accord of intense, woody, citrusy facets.
