The god of the primordial waters:
In ancient Egypt, the masculine nature of the primordial waters was the god Nun. According to the myths, from these waters the lotus flower was born, which hid beneath the water at night and blossomed in the sunlight. Within the blossom the sun god Atum was concealed, revealing himself as it opened. Hence the symbol of rebirth that surrounds this special flower.
