From April to May, the tonka beans fall from the tree in the Caura Basin region of Venezuela. The small nut inside is then dried and roasted. This process creates an addictive, culinary scent in the form of a resinoid, which is then distilled into an absolute reminiscent of caramel, cocoa, coffee, and other imaginary delicacies.
