The story of Biotherm dates back to the Middle Ages, when thermal springs were believed to be sources of eternal youth. Later research revealed the secret behind the power of these springs: Life Plankton.
Shortly after this discovery by Dr. Julien, he met a young beautician from Monaco. Together, they recognized the similarities between Life Plankton and the skin. With its enormous potential as an ingredient for skincare products, Biotherm was born.
The researcher and beautician found unique active ingredients that develop under extreme conditions and are refined through biotechnology. These concentrated ingredients are present in Biotherm’s sophisticated formulas, perfectly harmonizing with the skin. Biotherm believes that with a dynamic lifestyle and the power of water, healthy skin full of natural beauty is achievable.
Biotherm is committed not only to healthy skin but also to a healthy environment. Its dedication to improving its ecological footprint includes:
- Water-based activities powered sustainably by biotechnology.
- Rinse-off formulas that are at least 90% biodegradable, with natural exfoliating agents in the scrubs.
- Packaging made from 100% FSC-certified cardboard and 40% recycled glass in 50ml glass containers, saving 35 tons of paper and 26 tons of plastic so far.
- Reduction of Biotherm’s ecological footprint in production by 2020.
