Estée Lauder – The Success Story of a Cosmetics Icon

The credo of the founder Josephine Esther (“Esty”, later “Estée”) Mentzer still upholds the Estée Lauder brand today, offering women of all ages high-quality luxury products of outstanding quality.
Her Background
The New Yorker was practically born to become a beauty icon:
- Daughter of an elegant businessman.
- A mother who regarded regular skincare rituals as sacred.
- Niece of a chemist who taught her how to make facial creams and ointments herself.
Her rise to the queen of cosmetics (‘cosmetics queen’), as she was soon called, was almost inevitable. Her uncle showed her how to mix velvety facial creams, oils, and ointments.
