CBD: oil, creams and much more
The active ingredient CBD
CBD stands for cannabidiol and is extracted from the female hemp plant. Unlike THC, another hemp ingredient, CBD is not psychoactive or intoxicating. Rather, CBD is associated with many positive properties such as relaxing, anti-inflammatory or regenerating. More and more beauty products are taking advantage of these properties by using CBD as an ingredient.
CBD oil
CBD oils are offered in different concentrations. Low-dose oils are more suitable for beginners, high-dose ones for those who want a stronger effect and are already familiar with CBD. Reported effects include relief from inflammation, sleep disorders or stress.
Tip: Apply a few drops of CBD oil directly to the scalp and massage it in. This can prevent inflammation and relieve itching.
CBD for the skin
CBD is said to have an anti-inflammatory effect, which can have positive effects on skin irritations and for example help with rough skin or facial redness. CBD can reduce sebum production to prevent pimples and blackheads. Furthermore, due to its antioxidant effect, CBD can fight free radicals, which are considered one of the main triggers for skin aging.
More CBD products
CBD can be found as an ingredient in a wide variety of other products for internal and external use. The selection ranges from tea and lozenges to body lotion , hand cream, mouthwash and toothpaste. They all use the positive effects associated with CBD, such as calming, decongesting or pain-relieving.
Hemp oil as ingredient
Unlike CBD oil, hemp oil, also called hemp seed oil, is obtained by pressing the hemp seeds and does not contain CBD. Nevertheless, hemp oil is a popular ingredient for cosmetics. Because hemp oil is almost identical to human lipids, it can be absorbed immediately into pores to cleanse and detoxify them. Hemp oil also keeps deeper skin layers supple and is therefore particularly effective against dry skin. Furthermore, hemp oil strengthens the skin barrier, binds moisture and supports cell renewal.
