What is the HERA Starter Set?
The HERA Starter Set contains 3 high-quality menstrual sponges, which can be easily removed thanks to the reusable pull cords made of medical silicone – similar to tampons. These sponges are your reliable companions during menstruation and offer maximum comfort and security.
Set Options – Tailor your set to your flow strength
- Size S: Set "Light-Medium": For light to medium bleeding, contains three sponges (Size S: 4–5 cm) with an absorbency of approximately 15 ml of blood (equivalent to 2 regular tampons) and three pull cords made of medical silicone.
- Size M and L: Set "Heavy": For heavy bleeding, contains three sponges (Size M: 5–6.5 cm and Size L: 6.5–7.5 cm) with an absorbency of approximately 20–30 ml of blood (equivalent to 3 regular tampons) and three pull cords made of medical silicone.
Note: For more leak protection, two menstrual sponges can also be worn simultaneously, or you can cut the sponges to your desired size.

How to use
Application and Care
- Preparation: Clean with a vegan cleaning tablet in water or soak in a water-vinegar solution (2:1) before the first use.
- Application: Gently insert the damp sponge into the vagina – sponges can be customised or two can be worn simultaneously for double leak protection.
- Duration of Use: Change every 3–8 hours depending on the flow; also suitable for night use.
Care on the Go
- Discreet Change: Remove the menstrual sponge using the retrieval string and discreetly change it with the to-go case.
- Immediate Use: Rinse the sponge with water and reinsert it immediately or use a fresh sponge from the set.
After the Period
- Thorough Cleaning: Repeat the cleaning process after the period. Allow all menstrual sponges to air dry thoroughly and store them exclusively in the hygiene bag until the next cycle.
