Rahua

Rahua – rainforest grown beauty
The brand Rahua is named after a high-quality, nourishing oil that the indigenous people of the Amazon rainforest call Rahua (pronounced: Ra-wa).
Fabian Lliguin, a hairstylist from New York City, discovered in the 1990s during his work as an environmentalist in the Amazon rainforest that the women of the Quechua-Shuar tribe had exceptionally beautiful, shiny hair, which they cared for with Rahua oil.
For centuries, Rahua oil has been produced in a sustainable and traditional way by the Quechua-Shuar. Today, more than 500 families from the Quechua-Shuar, Achuar, and neighboring tribes receive a stable source of income through the cultivation of rainforest-grown ingredients for Rahua products.
Natural, sustainable, and cruelty-free
All Rahua products are made from 100% natural ingredients. They are free from chemicals and toxic components and are not tested on animals. This guarantees maximum product effectiveness while ensuring minimal environmental impact.
Rahua has developed its own quality standard called Symbiotic for its products. A Symbiotic ingredient must meet the following criteria:
- The ingredient grows (wild) in undisturbed rainforests.
- It is harvested from untouched rainforests in the Amazon region.
- It is cultivated and extracted using the same traditional methods that Amazonian tribes have used for centuries.
