Coconut Organic Care Oil

The indulgent skin oil for young and old. Particularly chapped, irritated or stressed skin benefits from the cooling, stabilising and soothing properties of organic coconut fat with its high lauric acid content. Without leaving a greasy sheen, it is absorbed by the skin and leaves it silky soft.

Ticks, incidentally, do not like the scent of the lauric acid it contains. In Ayurveda, organic coconut oil is also traditionally used to care for hair – from the scalp to the brittle ends. As the organic coconut oil has not been refined or deodorised, it retains the typical coconut scent. It becomes solid at room temperature and then needs to be briefly warmed in a water bath.

It mixes very well with organic jojoba oil. The coconut palm is deeply rooted in the cultures and traditions of many tropical countries. It is probably the most famous plant in the world, and certainly one of the most useful.

From India, where it is considered sacred, to the Philippines, where it is known as the “tree of life”, from the Caribbean to the African coasts, the coconut palm is prized for its versatility. It is used for food, shelter, medicine and cosmetics. Its fronds can be used to make roofs, mats or fans.

Its robust, salt-resistant wood is carved into barrels, and also used to build small boats, houses and furniture. Medically and cosmetically, coconut oil is known for its high content of saturated fatty acids and its protein content, its cleansing and antiallergenic effects.
