farfalla was founded in 1982 from a Zurich hippie commune – a community of wellbeing enthusiasts with the mission to inspire the wellbeing of others. Through travel and exchange with different cultures, they discovered the power of essential oils and their potential to improve people’s quality of life.
Living sustainability – every step of the way: Social commitment and long-standing organic partners worldwide
Every farfalla product relies on the effectiveness of pure natural essential oils. Respect for nature and its resources, as well as trust in and appreciation for local people, are at the heart of collaboration with cultivation partners worldwide. This results in raw materials of the highest organic quality. 80% of raw materials come from certified organic farming or wild harvesting. The farfalla “grand cru” label honors organic producers who are socially engaged – for example in India and Egypt, where projects strengthen the position of women, or in Madagascar, where a farfalla project supports over 2,000 small farmers. In southern France, women also contribute through wild harvesting to preserving traditional plant knowledge.
Processing and production: Made in Switzerland
The two GMP-certified production sites in Zurich and the Jura stand for the highest level of expertise and state-of-the-art processing under strict quality controls. Their deep expertise in aromatherapy and high quality standards have made farfalla the Swiss market leader in aromatherapy and its products for over 40 years.
