The brand was founded by Sheikha Hind Bahwan, a native of Oman and the visionary behind Ojar, who created it as a statement of modernity and traditional harmony.

Ojar derives its name from Hojari, which refers to the highest quality of frankincense in the world, found in the Dhofar mountains of Oman. Frankincense has a long and versatile history in Oman with a variety of uses and health benefits. It is best known as a perfume ingredient and as resin that is burned, valued for its powerful, uplifting, and purifying effects on body, mind, and soul.
